The art of balance, the beauty of diversity.

Gravitas started with one person in southern Vermont. It spread through the community the way good things do, table to table, hand to hand. We found it, fell in love with it, and brought it to the rest of the world.

People have been stacking stones forever. On riverbanks, on trails, wherever they find them. Gravitas brings that instinct to the table.

Every piece is cut by hand from natural stone. Slate, marble, and granite are among our most common. No two are identical. Within each numbered stone there is variation in size, color, finish, texture, edge. Some pieces are raw and rugged. Others smooth. Sawn edges meet chiseled faces. This is not a flaw. It is the point.

A strategy game. A stacking challenge. A sculptural object. Beautiful at rest. Compelling in play.

NATURAL MATERIALS

Every piece is cut from real slate, marble, and granite. No plastic, no synthetic materials, no shortcuts. What you hold is exactly what the earth made, shaped by hand.

MADE IN THE USA

Gravitas is handcrafted in Brattleboro, Vermont by a small woman-owned studio. Every set is touched by real hands at every step of the way, from raw stone to finished game.

ART YOU WITH PLAY WITH.

Simple enough to pick up in minutes, deep enough to keep you thinking for years. Gravitas is designed to live on your table, not in a box. It is a game, a sculptural object, and a conversation starter all at once.

Our mission

We started Gravitas because most games are disposable. Cardboard wears out, plastic gets thrown away, and the box goes in a closet. We wanted to make something that stays out on the table, gets better with use, and eventually belongs to someone else. So we cut it from stone, by hand, in Vermont, and we made the rules simple enough that anyone can sit down and hard enough that no one exhausts them. Art you can play with. That is the whole idea.
